Photos for Past Articles
(and other fun and
not-so-fun stuff)
Over the years I've written
about Locks of Love
,;
Mr. Mom
;
my son (who has not always been a
treasure but
I'll keep him anyway)
;
my beloved grandparents (whom I was blessed to still
have in my life
when I turned 50!)
;
my less-than-conventional
upbringing
;
daughter's graduation
from Corporate College
;
becoming "Grandma"
for the 10th time
and
two years later becoming "Great-Grandma" for the first time; foster
parenting/foster grandparenting/adoption (no photos - to protect the
innocents); the living hell that is dying from cancer for the cancer victim
and his or her loved ones. That's me in the next photo, taken on the
10th anniversary of my daddy's death, for use on the televised Stand
UP 2 Cancer campaign. Cancer is our family's biggest enemy. You
probably guessed that by "The 13" inside my broken heart.

an unplanned building implosion at
the busiest intersection in

super Spade in the world
and the valiant efforts
by the committee to retain its
history when all hope to save
the behemoth Silver Spade was gone

"voids" appearing under brand
spanking new freeway construction that I could actually
(actually, I did) climb
into

grandchildren by purchasing one (or ten) of these!
I've covered; heart walks, cancer
telethons, and March of Dimes fundraising, heart-tugging adoption stories,
burning buildings, heroes doing what they do best - and don't consider
themselves heroes for doing it, one of the 7 MOST dangerous bridges in America
that may not be replaced for many too many more years, the plight of seniors,
seniors at their happiest, the loss of a loved one, my very common name (while
lamenting that both of my brothers are married to women named Linda, so I'd cashed
in my maiden name only to be replaced by two others), how I became my own
step-sister, my dad's proclivity for saying "I do", and the perils of raising
children. I've also written about the best ways to get even with our children -
through their children.
In between, I spared not even the
slightest smidgeon of anger when writing to and about the thieving bastards who
stole my lovely (and like-new) red and white 1977 Ford F-250 Super Custom truck,
along with everything else we owned from our farm in middle Tennessee.
There are thieves there wearing our shoes AND underwear - and probably driving
my truck with all new numbers. Car aficionados will understand that comment.
Along the way I've interviewed
over 100 authors, written dozens of book reviews, and covered gardening and home
show events, charity runs, biker events, and anything and everything else that
could be written about.
I've written about living well
with chronic illness, and about parenting gone wrong.
I've managed political campaigns,
written press releases, and served as media liaison for numerous entities.
And I've written a few things
about politics.

If you don't vote, you have no right to
complain.
EVER!

Nation Under God.
